Report is one of the main method and means at information processing and interaction in office automation, management information system, expert system, the decision support system and other systems. According to the statistics, processing of statements in usual management information system accounted to20%,and unexpectedly above50%in decision system. At the same time, the demands of the report part is the easiest part to change in a system. If it adopt independent research and development, it’s no doubt to increase development and maintenance cost, what’s more, report template generally not universal and ordinary users cannot design the program independently. At present, a lot of Reporting tools on the market are developed in the form of middleware. As a kind of middleware, it inherited many of the benefits of the middleware. The reporting tools use a component-based approach, package common features by programming, and standard interface in order to be called by other programs for seamless integration.Every day the production and business operation activities of Port enterprise will produce large amounts of data, how to finish and extract this voluminous data, to provide inquires way as the needs of the user, to statistic analysis and print, which are inseparable from the support of the report system and application.This paper first present the current situation of Reporting system used in Guangzhou Port Corporation, then describe Middleware technology and the reason why Guangzhou Port Corporation apply this technology in developing System, among this part, the emphasis focus on analyzing the advantages and disadvantages of RunQian and Weblogic in order to establish foundation of system functional design in the back. Secondly, through sorting out the business processes and functional requirements, the Reporting system complete the design of the overall structure and main functions of the module, which have used C/S architecture, JSP technology, Oracle. What’s more, the efficiency being improved greatly by employing Star-shaped logical structure to design database. Finally, this paper depict a detailed description of the development process, which including installation and configuration of middleware, publication and disposition of application, programming of interface, example of representative functional modules and analyzing the countermeasure and the problems encountered in the implementation and development process.
