As a branch of the mobile terminal application, materials management system based on the mobile technology engineering which have the incomparable advantages compared with manual management and traditional computer management information system, such as mobility, search convenient, low cost, flexibility. The service object of the system can obtain needed information conveniently at anytime and anywhere, and carry out the real-time operation, thereby breaking the space constraints of original system, which can greatly improve the efficiency of project material management system. So developing a project material management system with sufficient information and efficient means of the inquiry for users, will be very necessary and timely.This paper from user needs, elaborates the system software requirements, interface requirements, performance requirements and other requirements, and describe the development platform, according to the function characteristics of the system, including the system detailed design, function module, the function structure diagram. At the mobile phone terminal, in order to achieve the purpose to realize the four modules of the on-line management, budget query, expenditure query, plan approval and stock inquiry, and the mobile office and information query in the traditional construction material management system. The main task of the system is using the mobile terminal to remote database through the Web service accessly, and manage the engineering material applications and information and feedback, such as budget query, application program, material pricing, plan approval, material storage and delivery and so on, also taking into account the characteristics of the inputting information timeliness and accuracy. Finally, debugging the function modules through the Android technology, to further validate the feasibility of this method.For the design requirements, the engineering material information management system based on the Android system further driving the development process of systematic, standardization and automation of the information management system. Through the engineering materials management system implementation, it is easy to extend the related function from other project material management system, which have the good expansibility, meanwhile, laying a solid foundation for further taping the office automation system, and realizing full mobile office.
