The Research Of Application About Project-based Learning Based On Sakai Platform

With the essential characteristics of learning by doing and solving practical problems creatively, Project-based Learning has been an important learning idea and method recently, attracting more and more attention and recognition. It can facilitate the changes of behavior about teaching and learning, making better teaching effect.The rapid development of network and information technology has brought the unprecedented development opportunity for educational informatization. Furthermore, as a new teaching method, network education has already been applied and developed rapidly in educational field because of its flexibility and high interactivity. Excellent network teaching platform is very crucial to support Project-based Learning, and it shall be an important tool in collaborative research and process management about projects. As an open source network education platform, Sakai is much better than other commercial or open source network education platforms for supporting Project-based Learning. Therefore this study combined Sakai with Project-based Learning, and made further study on how to apply Project-based Learning.In this study I discussed the definition and basic characters of Project-based Learning a nalyzed by relevant scholars at first, and then analyzed operation process of Project-based L earning and its characteristics under network environment. In view of Sakai’s functional char acteristics, this paper put forward our own Project-based Learning mode building on the Sak ai platform, and analyzed its educational activities. Eventually I selected two natural classes of grade three from normal major as the subjects, and used means of quasi-experimental res earch to verify the effect of Project-based Learning in Sakai platform.Through collecting and analyzing the experiment data, the results showed that Sakai plat form can provide a strong support for environment of Project-based Learning, Project-based Learning activities Based on Sakai Platform could increase students’enthusiasm for learning, and improve the learning effect.
