The routing path of data packet is determined by the routing algorithm in ZigBee wireless network. The choice of routing path determines which node and how many nodes will be used when a data packet is sent from the source node to the destination node. The fewer nodes you used in the routing process, the less communication delay time will be used and the higher speed of communication will be had. Therefore, we can effectively improve the communication efficiency by optimizing the routing algorithm in ZigBee wireless network. There is an useful routing algorithm for the tree network topology in this paper, and it bases on the Cluster-tree algorithm.At first, several traditional routing algorithms and other algorithms that proposed by domestic and foreign scholars are introduced in this paper. Secondly, each algorithm’s advantages and disadvantages are showed and analyzed. At last, we present a new algorithm which has a neighbor table than the traditional Cluster-tree algorithm. The neighbor table is used to store the information of neighbors. So the data packets not only can be sent to the parent node or child nodes along the tree, also can be sent to the neighbors.The system uses the CC2430 as a wireless communication chip. According to the chosen research method we can program. And the paper will tell you how to program in detail. There are two major parts in the system. And they are the establishment of neighbor table and the selection of routing path. Finally, the data of experiments is analyzed in order to prove that the new routing algorithm could effectively improve the communication efficiency in the ZigBee wireless network which has a tree topology.
