Design And Implementation Of Staff Information Management System Based On Cognos BI

With the development of technology, the management of the staff information based on Business Intelligence has brought more convenience and efficiency than the traditional way. The efficient staff information management system could help companies achieve office automation, reduce management costs, and improve work efficiency. Traditional system will spend a mass of time and efforts of developers on making the similar Web page, while implementing multi-dimension and multi-view, needs long time of the development cycle and complex processes, while adding a new demand. For the traditional system, Business Intelligence moved to fill these gaps.The staff information management system based on Cognos BI allows ordinary users of Cognos software to fabricate the Web pages which satisfy the users’demands in a short time. And it provides intelligent dimensions and views to facilitate the users to view staff location information. The convenient data import tool, the well-understood layer structure and the simple method of producing Web page make the system use, maintenance and upgrades simple.This paper mainly discusses the staff information management system based on Cognos BI, and briefly introduces the system analysis, design and implementation process. It is divided into six parts:development technology, demand analysis, system design, system implementation, system testing, summary and prospect. The part of development technology gives a brief introduction of the key technology and methods. Demand analysis describes the overall requirements, the functional and nonfunctional requirements of the components. System design describes the overall architecture and the design of all the parts. System implementation describes the implementation of all the processes. System testing describes the detailed test methods of system input and output parts. Final summary and prospect gives a brief summary of my work and the next plan.
