Research On AAA Application In WLAN Based On PPPoE And MIPv6

The application area of WLAN is more and more extensive, but some problems prevent it from developing. It has no authentication and accounting mechanism as an accessing network; WEP protocol has security flaws, and can't protect the security of user's data. If WLAN and mobile IPv6 are combined, WLAN should get more development. But mobile IPv6 has no management mechanism for network resource. With the help of AAA, the authentication accounting and mobile IPv6 management problems in WLAN can all be resolved and even the safety problems can also be resolved.This paper proposes that with the help of AAA PPPoE protocol can be used in WLAN to resolve authentication accounting and access control problems. According to the characteristic of WLAN, PPPoE protocol is enhanced. A dynamic key is used to protect user's data. And these make PPPoE become a safe protocol in WLAN. An enhanced PPPoE client and server program has been developed on Linux platform using C programming language. A roaming implementation frame that AAA is combined with mobile IPv6 is designed.With the help of AAA, PPPoE protocol has resolved authentication accounting and access control problems in WLAN. With the help of DES encrypting algorithm and by safely using dynamic session keys the user's data are protected in WLAN. This system can stably and reliably work. It is fit for small scale use. The roaming part has not been implemented yet. Only implementation and experiment references are given. The implementation of roaming will be the emphases of the following research.
