Design And Implementation Of The Wireless City Data Service Based On Rest

Recently, with the rapid development of the information technology, network technology into all aspects of life, especially in the large cities with intensive network users, many cities are building efficient and convenient information network in order to obtain a convenient net-work connection.Wireless city is greatly concerned by the city man-agers and becomes the hot spot of building information city all over the world.Meanwhile,with the increasing development and per-fection of the wireless city, more and more applications and services to be integrated together. At the same time, in the great conveniences for the livelihood of the people,the wireless city faced some shortcomings such as large data, data interface complex, poor scalability and so on. Accordingly, based on the participating project of Anhui Mobile Wire-less City,the author propose the wireless city built on REST-based wireless data services which will not only provide efficient data services but also will achieve the purpose of the open and share of wireless city information.The paper firstly introduces the background of the wireless city, the main problems of data services and the methods of data services dev-elopment, and finally chose the REST as the development method for wireless data service. Secondly,it studies the basic concepts of REST and resource-oriented architecture ROA, and on this basis to learn REST-based web services design criteria and procedures. It lays a foundation for making the subject from theoretical studies to application.Finally, with the background of the wireless city project the author had evolved, combining with the actual data sources of the wireless city, according to REST-based Web services design criteria, the author separated the data from a different set of resources by application, assigned each data item to a uniform resource identifier URI and designed the appropriate HTTP interface. According to the detailed design, with jersey technology to implement the data services based on REST.From the point of actual practice, we apply the REST philosophy in-to the wireless city, design and realization of the REST-based wireless city data services.And we call the data service on different clients, the results show the server can provide the appropriate presentation information in accordance with the needs of clients. It shows that the data service based on REST has better flexibility and scalability, achieving the information sharing and openness to some degree.
