With the deep penetration of information technology in all aspects of urban life and the increasing integration of urbanization and information technology, the development of a new generation of information technology and networks become important connotation of modern urban development, has become a broad, dynamic optimization of resources configuration. Smart City is using in-formation and communication technology to sense, analyze and integrate the key information in the city’s core systems, to make smart response for people’s livelihood, environmental protection, public safety, urban services, industrial and commercial activities.The smart city applications with information integration and data sharing as the core will break the traditional information barriers between the field of urban administration and the industry sectors, and achieve a comprehensive Things between urban elements. Smart City Public Service Platform is a large compre-hensive application and information service system consisting of a plurality of relatively independent electronic information subsystems. It uses the cloud computing as its service architecture and integrates a variety of IOT application service to constitute a unified application and information service platform. Ap-plications in the Smart City Public Service Platform present diversity, mass, complexity, etc., it put forward higher requirements for the security of the plat-form.In the smart city environment, in order to complete the relevant work, the user must work with a number of different systems, and it will become a new norm. Therefore, how to simplify the user’s login operation, improve work effi-ciency and improve the usability of the system has become an important feature of the smart city public service platform while ensuring the security, which makes the unified identity authentication system play a more important role.Based on the traditional model of a single sign-on, this thesis proposes a sin-gle sign-on model based on REST and SAML called RSSM (REST and SAML Based SSO Model). The REST service interface is used creatively in the model as the binding of SAML, and has better flexibility, higher security and loose coupling and other features. Through a large number of actual research for the smart city, this thesis completes the requirements analysis about the unified identity authentication for the Smart City Public Service Platform; then it de-scribes the design and implementation of the unified identity authentication sys-tem based on the RSSM, the system not only completes single sign-on, session management, token management and other core functions, but also can be com-patible with existing systems by mapping user accounts; and this thesis intro-duces a comprehensive testing method and actual deployment scenarios for this system and focuses on key issues analysis; finally, it gives the summarize for the author’s work during the graduate, and prospects the use of unified identity au-thentication system.
