Based On Edge/gsm Mobile Phone Rf System Research

Compared to wired communications, wireless communications is a technology working via electromagnetic wave instead of cables.These days wireless communications technology is developing fastest and applied widest in telecommunications industry. Since mobile communications means people contacting each other during mobilization, wireless mobile communications is defined as the a technology combined with both.GSM(Global System for Mobile Communications) is the widest applied standard of the world nowadays. More than 10 billion people in over 200 countries and areas are using GSM mobile phones. GSM is regarded as a second generation (2G) of mobile phone system. [1]Since 2G has the advantages like high quality of audio and video transmission and low cost, it is still the most popular standard in domestic phone producers and telecom operators.Integrated front-end solution within dual band power amplifiers and antenna switch is still hot in research. While it is more difficult to integrate RF(radio frequency) module, baseband and analog TV in one single phone PCB (Printed Circuit Board).After researching on different RF solutions and products domestic and overseas, I did research and design of project P300A, including test. Now this project has been in mass production and released to market.The main work of this paper is presented as followed:1. Introduced GSM standard and made the structure of this project, including PCB system level structure, RF module, baseband and analog TV.2. Research in different front-end module products and chose the RF PA for this project, which can be used in GSM/EDGE and DCS.3. Made the matching design of RF module and met all phone level specs.4. Performed test of RF module and validated this solution.5.
