This article is based on the comprehensive summarizing and analysis oftypes to the text and organization of Jiayin Magazine which is established inthe early days of the Republic of China, trying to explore the roles ofdiscourse in the new public opinion space of the Chinese contemporary freeintellectuals in the interactive relations between the modern history of thedevelopment of media and cultural ideological trends, and the leading role inthe modern journal media which is in the new culture movement of JiayinMagazine, from the perspective of modern public opinion space. This textsystematically studies on the Jiayin Magazine, specifically through thefollowing aspects: its "public" quality, its subject integration, its guidance to thepublic opinion, its information dissemination system and the text style of themagazine. Based on the non-governmental position and the integration to theintellectuals in the early days of the Republic of China, Jiayin Magazineshows typical "public" quality on the origin of the magazine and the concernperspective; the public subjects are assembled with three aspects: politicalreform, literature reform and academic thought; it leads the public opinion inthree content: information transferring, comments of multiple levels and theleaderette; the information dissemination of Jiayin Magazine embodies thecharacteristics of the trend of elite and academic and the separation ofcompiling and issuing; its unique text style is an important landmark of thesystematic style of the Chinese modern media. Jiayin Magazine is acomprehensive political magazine which is the carrier of public opinion inmodern China earlier, and it is the preparation and premise of both the fullylaunch of the new culture movement and the birth of The New Youthmagazine.
