With the high-speed development of the electronic commerce, the industry provides richcommodity information for network users. Currently, internet users have been able to more directlythan ever, with more quickly and more easy access to know all kinds of commodity informationonline. But, very huge network information, breeding and update at a very fast rate, in every cornerin our lives. For each network users, at present there is no perfect management structure. "Resourceoverload" and "information fan to the concept" from this arises. Undoubtedly, ontology is bestconceptual model in the electronic commerce field. But, due to the field changes, Shared conceptualmodel change, and the change of ontology language, it makes the domain ontology model is in notconsistent state always. Therefore, the study of ontology consistency test is important. In "The semantic eb" field, ontology plays an irreplaceable role.its important status has beenincreasing obviously. Ontology through the precise definition concept and sharing for some specificfields can provide knowledge for reusing. However, the knowledge that can be reused and not static, but as the change of time can constantly be debugged. Field change, the conceptual model ofchange and adaptive factors such as different tasks, all requirements ontology change. Due to theontology change happen frequently, this makes "ontology evolution" has become an importantresearch direction.Generally speaking, ontology evolution will influence ontology and the relevant applicationgreatly. Different kinds of evolution method have different influence on ontology. The traditionalresearch focus on ontology evolution method and the realization of the consistency before and afterthe ontology maintenance, but how to reduce the cost of evolution caused little attention. And at thesame time, because of the lack of a measure criterion of evolution process. Therefore, the evolutionresults may not be the most optimal, it bring bigger burden for the ontology management andmaintenance. Therefore, this paper presents an ontology evolution method that can effectivelyreduce the cost of evolution. The outcome of ontology evolution impacts on the relevant services which depend on ontologyevolution directly. To the same evolution demands, different evolution methods may producedifferent evolution cost. Now, the research on ontology evolution mostly concentrates on evolutionmanagement, keeping the onsistency among others. However, the research on reducing theevolution cost is less. Based on the minimum cost, this paper proposes an ontology evolutionalgorithm named mcboea, which can reduce the evolution cost effectively. In this algorithm based on the ontology graph, ontology evolution can be regarded as a process which make intial ontologychange into target ontology after a series of ontology change operations. Mcboea lgorithmquantitatives ontology change operations, through searching out a least ripple effect path to reduceontology evolution cost. The results indicate that the evolution cost of mcboea is less than that ofcurrent methods. It is practically valuable to some degree.
