With the rapid development of the computer graphics, computer simulation technology in recent years, the virtual reality technology has been more and more widely used in different fields. Based on the simulation software which is Vega, this paper conducted a preliminary discussion on the application of the virtual reality. The virtual reality technology refers to much disciplinary knowledge in various fields, the study in this paper involved a Multigen Creator modelling technology, Vega Prime simulation technology and Visual C++ 6.0 programming technology. At first, a big amount of papers are investigated, this paper discussed the main characteristics, research and development situation of the virtual reality technology, analyzed the key technology for the virtual performance and 3D simulation involved. The principle and the main thought method of particle system was discussed, the method was used in fire simulation by the Vega simulation software based on the research of particle system, and based on this, in 3D simulation environment of Vega realized the virtual performance and 3Dsimulation of fire based on the predefined and custom particle system, it was presented that method of simulating Vega fire by programming with Visual C++ 6.0, realized the virtual performance and 3D simulation of fire based on one data table, the fire simulated result can be more efficiently real-time interactively controlled by means of Vega API function programming in virtual scene. Through the analysis of the main features of the fire pool, using the mathematical model, the pool fire by the Vega simulation software can be realized in Visual C++ 6.0 programming environment. Finally, this paper puts forward the research work, the deficiencies and further perfect method, and the future research content to put forward.
