In the modern warfare, it is needed to obtain the enemy information in order to interference and destroy the target with the offensive or defensive technology. Since the Second World War, it gets the target state information mainly by transmitting the electromagnetic wave signal. It can obtain the information of target, which can be set and interfered easily for the active feature. In the electronic warfare, to achieve the "hide ourselves, first, find the enemy, first, destroy the enemy first, " passive locating and tracking widely used in the military field for its hidden nature and affecting of long distance. Passive locating and tracking technology has important meaning and broad application prospects. Improve the accuracy of target locating and tracking by studying the theory and simulation analysis of Passive locating and tracking algorithm.This paper focuses on locating tracking technology by the multi-station, first, introduced the two classical methods of the locate passive positioning for the multi-station , and then combine the two algorithms, compare the different positioning methods by the simulation error curve (GDOP), discussed the observed conditions. This paper propose improved IMMEKF and IMMUKF locating and tracking filter algorithm based on the shortcoming of the traditional EKF and UKF, verifying the improvement of the algorithm by analyzing the comparison of simulation results .Secondly, it studies the locating tracking technology by the single station .This paper proposes the single, the rate of single, the rate of frequency passive algorithm, which combines the traditional DOA and FOA, solving the observable conditions. It research for the stationary target location and tracking due to its limited parameters, using the improved IEKF and MVEKF positioning tracking filter algorithm based on EKF. Finally,this paper discusses the affect on tracking accuracy and stability by simulation results.In conclusion, this paper studies the location and tracking technology by single station and multi-Passive location, which introduces the theory of passive location and discusses the observable conditions. It simulates and analyzes for the target locating and tracking in a different tracking filter algorithm, summing up the optimal tacking algorithm in a particular state. This paper simulates the track and calculates the error of the results under the different space and observation parameters, and summarizes the factors which affect the accuracy of locating and tracking. Some results have Engineering significance.
