As the period of the Republic of letters, Juren Cao must be in common with the same generation of people, at the same time, Juren Cao are different in the era of human personality, which makes him be pursued by later.In this paper, Juren Cao’s literati identity will be looked as a research assistant means, characteristics of the times when he lived is regarded as the research background, battlefield news, he wrote during the war of resistance against Japan, will be taken as the research important text. The research mainly settles in the career which he was a journalist, especially as a journalist during the war of resistance against Japan.This article is based on the large number of analysis for Juren Cao’s text. The first chapter of this article focuses on the introduction of the Republic of China scholar and their press activities; the aim is to provide the research background for the specific analysis.The second chapter is mainly on the analysis for the motivation of Juren Cao’s newspapers activities and his specific interview features as a war correspondent. Through studies, the author found that in the face of national crisis, the inner inherent awareness of responsibility and strong patriotic enthusiasm, which are the generality of intellectuals, was one of motivations, which make Juren Cao from the university to the battlefield, from Professor to reporter. Becoming a war reporter, Juren Cao has a large number of friends, a thorough observation, a crisscross pattern processing material as well as a writing technique, which Juren Cao has, make him be very different from others whether it is in the preliminary interview during closing to the news source, or it is in finishing materials and news release writing after the end of the interview.The eight years war reporter practice makes Juren Cao form what news thought is the third chapter’s the main content. Through the analysis, the author concludes that in motivation and objective of doing press activities, Juren Cao is in common with the contemporary writer. However, compared to other scholars’press activities, Juren Cao’s news activities are having intense introspection spirit and strong public concern; compared with the reporter, Juren Cao has more abundant friends, more profound ancient Chinese literature search skills and historians generally cautious attitude.Through a large number of the analysis, the author draws a conclusion that Juren Cao is the perfect combination of writer and journalist. Therefore, Juren Cao is not only concerned as a literati and scholars, as qualified occupation reporters, it should have a place for him in the Chinese news history. In addition, as a reporter with rich experience of war press activities, the modern media practitioners can have enlightenment and draw lessons from features of Juren Cao’s press activities and news thinking.
