The bridge inspection vehicle, with complex features and multiple degrees of freedom, is an important railway maintenance equipment, and it always work continuously in complex conditions with non-linear dynamics feature. It"s of great significance to research the dynamics of the bridge inspection vehicle to realizing the function as well as improving safety factor.Study object of this paper is the working structures of a new type of bridge inspection vehicle, and basing on the plentiful research of the constitution and workflow, it builds the intact virtual prototype model with mechanical system dynamics analysis software ADAMS. After that finished the multi-body dynamics simulation of the virtual prototype model, under condition of spreading of above-bridge as well as under-bridge, and then finished a preliminary study of the bridge inspection vehicle, basing on results of the simulation. Next, considering the effects of components deformations on dynamic characteristics, and define the rotating platform as main flexibility through analysis, then sets up the Rigid-Flexible coupling model by leading the model of rotating platform in multiple rigid body system with ADAMS after finishing that model in ANSYS. Finally, it finished rigid-flexible coupling dynamic analysis and got the dynamic stress characteristics of the rotating platform.By referencing the provisions of vehicle ride comfort analysis, it sets the comfort research methods of the bridge inspection vehicle. Besides, it’s the first time that using rigid-flexible coupling virtual prototyping technology on the bridge inspection vehicle dynamics analysis, and a method to build Rigid-Flexible coupling multi-body system is put forward in this paper. First define the main flexibility through analysis, and then create the model in the finite element program, and finally get the Rigid-Flexible coupling model by leading it in multiple rigid body system.Research results of this paper demonstrated the feasibility of using rigid-flexible coupling virtual prototyping to research the dynamics characteristics of characteristics, and it’s a further research in applying advanced computer simulation technology, and this method is of a certain reference value to research of other similar mechanical systems.
