Research And Implementation Of Intelligent Medical Assistant Of Diagnosis Knowledge Base Management Prototype System

The process of disease diagnosis is that according to patients’clinical manifestation, doctor using his owner medical knowledge to analyze this information and get a conclusion of the possible disease. Clinical manifestation is a generalized definition, it includes symptoms, body sign and many related physical examination results, it is vital important information to help doctor analyze the possible disease. This is the traditional way to diagnosis, which is not only totally depend on doctor’s personal experience and the location of doctors but also the process is subjective. In some far village or some poor area, it is lack of doctors and experienced doctors so people living in this area are difficult to see a doctor when they have some kind of a disease. In order to remit this problem, my research propose to develop a computer application to imitate the process of a doctor diagnose. This application includes two parts; one is "Intelligent Medical Assistant Diagnosis Knowledge Base Management Prototype System", the other one is "Reasoning Sub-System". The first part can set up a medical knowledge base according to the medical diagnosis tree model, which is used to supply knowledge for "Reasoning Sub-System".Firstly, my paper analysis the process of medical diagnosis and abstract the diagnosis model, according to the model we combine Object-Oriented knowledge expression with Rule-based knowledge expression to modeling the gained medical fact and rules according to some data structure, by which can form a medical knowledge model of the knowledge base management system. Secondly, base on the basic function module and architecture of expert system, we design the whole structure and main function module of knowledge base management system, by using model-view-control design pattern we divide the system to different layers, and show the details of each layers。Using Database Management System to founding some logical data base tables, the related data of the knowledge is stored in these tables, when these data is needed, knowledge base will call some functions to transfer data into knowledge. With some database accessing technology, we can implement the management and maintain of knowledge base. We use Java and Swing as a main develop technology to realize knowledge base management, knowledge management, fact and rule modeling, interface of reasoning sub-system. This application’s advantage is that when establishing experienced knowledge model in different areas, combine with the "Reasoning Sub-System", a new expert system is build in a new field.
