With the continuous modernization in China and the ever-deepening international exchange, the size and frequency of large-scale academic conferences increase rapidly, and their organization forms have become increasingly diverse. Higher requirements have been set on the digitization, networking, intellectualization and humanization of the conference system. Therefore, it is of high practical value to design a wireless conference information system which is movable, low-cost, secure, easy to deploy and full-featured.Focused on large-scale academic conferences and centered on multi-functional wireless conference information management system, this thesis anlyzes its organization characteristics and function requirements and proposes a distributive C/S architecture so as to effectively realize conference registration, authentication, management, etc. Based on the integrated use of wireless LAN, database design based on RBAC (Role Based Access Control), encryption and authentication, localization fingerprinting based on RSSI, a Wi-Fi based multi-functional wireless conference system is designed and implemented, featuring low cost, high efficiency, security and reliability. The system functions include searching papers and authors, on-site registration, realtime voting, positioning, PPT slides control, public transportation information, instant messaging, business cards exchange and so on. The system can not only effectively meet the information query needs but also enable participants to take part in social activities and expand their social networks, thus improving the conference organization and management efficiency.By building a development platform, this thesis completes the necessary servers such as system authentication server, data server and sub-venue server, as well as the client sub-system based on Windows XP and Windows Mobile Professional. The test results show that the system delay is small and does not affect normal communications and all system functions and performance effectively meets the design requirements. It is shown that the wireless conference information system designed and implemented features simplicity, practical applicability, reasonable architecture, high operability and expandability.
