The steel cord conveyor belt has qualified with tensile strength, fatigue strength, stable and eliable working. It has been widely used in mine, metallurgy, power depart, dock and etc. slight negligence may lead to great disaster. The joit of steel cord conveyor belt is the least tensile strength and weak place, the belt broken distress frequently take place at joint. So it is necessary to dynamically detect the joint distance on line to distress happening.The paper, in terms of gray scale relationship of connection part about steel cord conveyor belt, segment the connection part using difference algorithm. According to the edge relationship, the paper gets rid of redundant information, and then adopt the Union-find algorithm to merge the connected components and dected every lines.The algorithm using the data structure avoid the repeat of two-scans algorithms.The paper,in terms of texture of connection part about steel cord conveyor belt,make use of the Gray Level Co-occu rrenceMatrix(GLCM)to select the best threshold,binarize the joint imge,then compute the average distance of white pixel point to steel cord,finaly extract the effective connected regions. So that we can detect the effective area of every connection part.This paper detect the joint distance and the effective area of joint,the two parameters provide a favorable protection for online detection of joint stretch and Improve the intelligence of detection device of steel steel cord conveyor belt...
