A country with a vast territory yet frequent natural disasters, China has entered the frequency ofsudden events period with the rapid development of economy and aggravation of social conflicts. Varioussudden events have brought about casualties and property losses and caused huge impact to the crowd.Undoubtedly, such events are regarded as “hotspots” of media with high news value.In sudden events reporting, TV media has high media credibility, and its audio-visual transmittingmeans makes it have incomparable advantage over any other media. For a long time, however, Chinese TVmedia hasn’t received its good transmission effect due to following traditional cautious reporting waywhich is short of analysis and focus on receptors’ psychology. If TV media is unable to make timelyresponse and scientific report in sudden events reporting, it will intensify the criticality caused by theevents, shake social stability, and influence the government and organization image. In the past, ChineseTV news media didn’t put strong focus on the receptors’ psychology analysis in sudden events reporting,while in my opinion, receptors are just the key that affects news quality. News quality influences receptorswho get different views after receiving large relevant information, and those views affect the formation ofpublic voice that have impact on news reporting, in turn, which influence receptors. It is an interactive andinfinite loop process. If TV media ignores receptors’ psychology search and gives no scientific programplanning, not only transmission effect and media image will be influenced, also social crisis will beaggravated. Only when TV media makes scientific and accurate analysis on receptors’ psychology type,can it effectively guide public opinion, defuse crisis and promote its competitiveness.Facing the new situation, media should make scientific receptors’ psychology analysis with updateconcept, through which scientific reporting strategy is constructed. Thus, sound transmission mechanism ofsudden events can be built and best transmission effect can be achieved.
