In recent decades, with the continuous development of the network, the Ethernet technology in the network is Increasingly used. H-VPLS (hierarchical-Virtaul Private LAN Service can model the backbone network as a layer switch, and connect around LAN) technology as a new type of Ethernet technology can provide high reliability and high quality VPN service. BFD (the Bidirectional Forwarding Detection) is similar to a quick HELLO detection, for detection of link failure, can provide millisecond-level fault detectionrate, so the BFD detection for H-VPLS network can improve H-VPLS network reliability, and reduce the number of packets in H-VPLS network.This article describes a project basis:H-VPLS technology and BFD technology. Through the analysis of H-VPLS and BFD, BFD detection for H-VPLS network needs to address three major issues.1,the BFD detected forwarding packets in the H-VPLS network, how not to be forwarded to the user equipment.2,which method to use to trigger the creation of the BFD session.3,BFD detection can not be achieved to control the plane of detection, which method to use to resolve this defect.In this paper, the analysis of the above problems use Delivering VCCV LSP-Ping to trigger the BFD session, the use of the VCCV LSP-Tracert technology to solve the BFD can only detect the forwarding plane defects, the head of the BFD packets joined the PW control word will not be forwarded to the user equipment. The final design of MPLS BFD module to achieve the above mentioned features, the successful implementation of the BFD detection for H-VPLS network, achieved the desired detection of the millisecond speed, effectively raising the H-VPLS network reliability.
