Research On Flow In Microblogging From Mobile Devices:

Flow is a psychological theory but the researches of it have expanded to many aspects, such as sports and media. Recently, in the media field, researchers apply Flow theory into the study of various topics, including websites, online shopping, remote education, network games, etc. Flow theory is paid great attention because of its commercial value. Specifically, it explains what kind of factors could cause Flow in an activity which makes consumers willing to spend time in the activity. This research utilizes Flow theory in microblog study, exploring the factors that cause flow and also the consequences of flow.A major innovation of this study is that it focuses on flow in the use of microblog on handheld mobile devices. With the development of technology, the operation system of mobile devices like cellphones has been frequently updated and become more and more user friendly. Therefore, instead of computers, these mobile devices are the most popular network terminals in our daily life. Moreover, characteristics of mobile devices will definitely influence the users’ operation, and then have impact on flow in using microblog on these devices.It is found in this research that the involvement of microblog is more important to flow, compared with other factors. Additionally, this research measures extrinsic variables, discovering some factors that are often ignored in previous studies.
