The original street lamp dispatching control is used in manual control or time control, this control mode only fully open or fully closed, can not flexible. This control can not effectively balance the street lamp lighting and energy saving. In this paper, establish a single lamp control mode, based on ZigBee protocol, constructing wireless street lamp control network, realization of remote, wireless single lamp control, combined with other road sensing technology and equipment, according to the condition of the road surface in real time. Dynamic regulation lighting, both meetting the normal street lighting needs, and turning off street lamps in the unnecessary time, saving energy.The ZigBee protocol is a low power, low cost, low data rate, network capacity, dynamic network, secure and reliable data transmission bidirectional wireless communication protocol. Based on the linear characteristic of street lighting, this paper proposes a better ZigBee network protocol to reduce the routing overhead and save the controlle(?) cost. Every street lamp mounts a single controller, in the group single lamp controllers install a group controller. The single controller control the street lamp switch, adjust brightness, and acquisition of the street lamp current, voltage, power and other information. The group controller is also a network coordinator, have launching a network function and transmitting information to monitoring center.When building a network, the group controller initiate networking commands for scanning channel and single controller correlation matching, responsing the commads.The network formed a tree network structure between group controller and single controller, and formed a mesh network between group controller and group controller. So in each controller communication range, based on multi-hop resume routing, control commands are transmitted to remote in the networks.In this paper, the formation of the ZigBee street lamp wireless control network, based on established street network structure characteristics, simplifies routing lookup and routing reply process in the on-demand distance vector (AODV) routing protocol. Group controllers keep a routing table which arrives at each terminal controller, so the AODV routing protocol only reach to the group controller can directly answer route reply (RREP) message to the source node. Group controller needn’t broadcast the packet again, and single controller also needn’t answer packet to the group controller. This improves the routing efficiency, saves routing cost. This also upgrades of the lamp control efficiency and reliability.This paper studies the ZigBee protocol, and has developed a set of digital streetlight management software, This software supports B/S architecture which based remote digital wireless street lamp control. It has been successfully applied in an important section of the street lamps lighting project in a city. Realization of the remote, wireless, unattended lights control, further save lighting electricity.
