TEA CO2laser has a very wide application prospect in the industrial, scientific and military fields. This paper focuses on the TEA CO2laser and the development of its grating selected by the automatic control system, and the experimental work has been carried out.On the basis of the full investigation of the TEA CO2laser technology, for the basic principles of tunable TEA CO2laser and grating line selection, the effects of working gas composition and pressure on the output performance is researched in this paper. By the analysis of three commonly used tuning method, the grating tuning program is selected, and a detail study to grating tuned technology and its automatic control technology has been carried out.On the basis of careful study of the structure of a TEA CO2laser system, the laser is debugged first, and the output performance, such as single-pulse output energy, output stability, spot size, divergence angle and a single inflatable working hours, is experimentally studied. The best operating parameters of the laser is determined and an output energy of200mJ which is maximum is obtained.Then the overall program of grating selected is designed, and the hardware of tuning selected output control is developed. A number of debugging experiments on zero signal of the grating and frequency value of the electric machinery are carried out. The automatic control to TEA CO2laser grating tuned is achieved, and the system can meet the requirements in accuracy and speed of fast tuning. Finally the grating tuned line-selected experiment is carried out, and several lines of laser output are obtained near10.6μm.
