Display and compression system of radar video signal is an important part of radar data processing subsystem. And it is also the key link of VTS (Vessel Traffic Management) system. We not only need to realize the display, but also we must complete the appropriate display processing.This can be done to allow the operator to quickly and accurately find obstacles, change speed, and heading to hedge, while ensuring the safety of navigation of ships. In order to solve this problem, this design uses intraframe and interframe compression, to remove the redundant information of the radar signal in time and space, and to reduce the amount of data of radar signal.In the process of terminal radar display, the radar terminal display.Interface is a modular design, and it is designed to be easy to radar driver understanding and operating. In the interface of radar image display and processing is divided into three modules:the software control module, the range transform module and the display processing module. In the range transform module, it is setted the five buttons, it can display the images of five different scale. In display processing module, they achieve a lot of display processing capabilities, including the fan-shaped enlarged, CFAR, sliding window detection, real-time display, eccentric display, high pass and low pass filtering and contour extraction function.We use combining method of intraframe compression and interframe signal compression. It uses method of intraframe compression, for example, huffman coding, run length encoding and bit-plane coding method. Meanwhile, in order to do comparison, it also uses the discrete Fourier encoding, Walsh Hadamard encoding and Shannon-Fenno coding. In Interframe compression, it uses the method of differential predictive coding (DPCM).In the same interface, the design realizes display processing module and signal compression module, and basically all the results of function can be shown in the form of images or dialog box. This design allows the radar operator is easier observed the target object. It also reduce the burden on the recording and transmission of the radar signal, and the channel bandwidth requirements.
