Research And Implementation Of The Private Cloud Services System Of Digital Library Based On Eucalyptus

There are some problems such as low utilization rate of resources, a single deployment of system, high-cost have restricted the development of digital library. For these problems, this paper presents an issue that introducing the advantages of cloud computing applications to digital library. This paper achieved private cloud services system of digital library by using technology of virtualization and cloud computing. The system provides a variety of cloud service to different users. It reaches a goal that providing most rich services by using minimal resources.Firstly, this paper made an in-depth research of cloud computing and virtualization technologies, and then build a digital library private cloud infrastructures by making an in-depth research and analysis of Eucalyptus open source cloud computing software.Then on this infrastructures and through doing secondary development of open source portal framework GridSphere, it completed functional modules of private cloud services system of digital library such as user management, image management, virtual machine management, application management and monitoring management. Among the module of image management, it proposed and implemented construction method for varieties of mirror mode such as operating system, operating system adding application server, operating system adding development environment or software. It achieved a goal of multi-mode cloud services of private cloud services system of digital library.Through the publishing platform in multi-modal services of the system, it successfully deployed the subsystems of digital library on the virtual machine in the private cloud. The subsystems include Unified Retrieval, Digital Storage OAI, Resource Processing, Web Collection, Paper Submit and Library Automation System. It can not only solve the problem of a single deployment, but also improve the utilization of hardware resources. In addition, the system also provides users virtual machine, application software and development platforms, and other cloud services. In order to ensure the reliability of the virtual resources of the system, it designed and implemented virtual machine monitoring management and timing of using virtual machine management. It reflects the system’s multi-mode application service. This is a try and explore for large-scale application of cloud computing in the digital library. It provides a meaningful reference value.
