Interactive electronic whiteboard is a new media which combines the traditional blackboard and modern multimedia technology. Almost all the existing whiteboard systems are in the same model that based on some special hardware and software, which leads to its limitation of available range and high prices. So that interactive electronic whiteboard still has not become popular in the market. The design of this interactive electronic whiteboard breaks through in the design mode of its previous. In this program I take the approach which is based on network to design and implement an interactive electronic whiteboard software. The design goal is to make the whiteboard be a kind of software which is similar to a real-time communication software and no longer limited to a fixed hardware system. This white board can not only be used for teaching, but also for business talks, business research and developing projects, and even the between the discussions of two ordinary people it can play a role. Whiteboard software reduces the price of traditional interactive electronic whiteboard that makes it closer to the people than before and also more competitive.The design started from the analysis of whiteboard status, discussing the pros and cons of the existing whiteboard and drawing on the lessons learnt from the success or failure, and identified the specific requirements from the analysis result. And then according to the requirements analysis of all project functions, I combined it with relevant networking, distributed computing, synchronous sharing, and other related areas of technology to discuss the advantages and disadvantages of various techniques. At the end of the discussion, I decided to use the P2P model, MVC architecture, Java RMI remote method call, sand boxes, Java RMI security management strategy and other advanced technologies to do the systematic and detailed design. Finally, I implemented this web-based interactive electronic whiteboard software in accordance with the previous design and the actual situation.
