Intelligent transportation can solve the most difficult city bus, and trafficinformation collection is the premise of the intelligent traffic.High accuracy and highstability positioning signal of GPS is the most basic in traffic information.But in theurban environment, due to blocking, reflection, and dependence on the speed,the GPSpositioning accuracy is generally low.Therefore, the research of GPS positioningenhancement technology is great significant.We applied a embedded system, in which ARM devices is used for as CPU andEmbedded Linux is done as software kernel, to finish acquisition and enhancement ofGPS signal. A three acceleration sensor is added into the system to further improve theaccuracy of GPS signals or to perform GPS blind positioning.In this paper,we havedeveloped the embedded systems based on S3C2440and Linux2.6,and put forward thelow-cost program of acquisition and enhancement of GPS signal in metropolitan busenvironment. Field test is finished and results show that the questiones about block andineffective localization have been effectively sovled. The localization data can beabtained when bus is running in the tunnel.In this paper we introduce the basic principles of the existing GPS system,basedon the composition of the ARM and Linux embedded board GPS system design ideas,technology and the component of automotive systems.We systematically analyzes the process establish the embedded system based onARM/Linux-based. For involve both hardware and software, in the process ofestablishing the system must overcome many of the tedious details.Including theestablishment of cross-compilation environment,build the boot code of bootloader,kernel tailoring,the root file system.In order to improve the adaptability of the system,in this paper we use U-boot as bootloader.We use the development of embedded systems to achieve GPS signal acquisitionand enhanced. Use the embedded systems archive to the GPS signalacquisition. Proposed for metropolitan bus environment, low-cost GPS signalacquisition and enhanced programs and field testing.Test results show that,The originalblock positioning ineffective significant improvement.In short, the paper has developed embedded systems which is used to finish GPSsignal acquisition and to have it enhanced.Field test results show that the method has good localization effect.The program also has some reference to other systems that useGPS for localization....
