Greenhouse is one of the crucial components of facility agriculture, and supervision as wellas controlling of greenhouse environmental parameters counts a hot topic that is being studiedcurrently. A sensor network, which aims to perform automatic monitoring on the greenhouse, needsto be established in order to ensure that information of greenhouse environmental parameters suchas temperature, humidity, illumination intensity, soil moisture and pH etc. is stabilized at theoptimal state value for growth of crops. In general, wired sensor network is applied to traditionalgreenhouse monitoring system. Despite that it has been quite mature and stable currently, wiredmonitoring system has the obvious shortcomings such as complicated wiring, high installation cost,difficulty in maintenance, and poor reliability etc. Application of wireless sensor system marks thebest solution for the aforementioned problems.According to monitoring requirements of greenhouse environment, and after analyzing andcomparing existing short-range wireless network communication protocol, the recently emergingZigBee short-range wireless communication technology is employed in the paper so as to designnodes of wireless network in greenhouse. Main research contents are as follows:1.Several existing short-range wireless network communication technologies are researchedand analyzed, their advantages and disadvantages are compared between each other, and it isconfirmed to design greenhouse wireless network nodes with ZigBee, which is characterized byshort distance, low complicity, self-organization, low power consumption, low data rate and cost.2.Hardware chips and components are selected according to designing requirements ofgreenhouse wireless network nodes, and hardware designing for sink nodes, which are equippedwith various functions, as well as terminal nodes of sensors is completed respectively.3.On that basis, in addition to protocol stack program, temperature collection procedures ofSTC12LE5A60S2and DS18B20are compiled. Meanwhile, greenhouse wireless sensor networkswith star topologies are constructed.4.Data fusion technology in wireless sensor network is studied. In accordance with greenhouse wireless sensor networks with star topologies designed in the paper, adaptiveweighting algorithm is put into application to perform data fusion on multiple temperature sensorsin the network, and ideal fusion results are obtained.5.Performance tests on greenhouse wireless network nodes designed in the paper areconducted.
