Digital watermarking algorithm is a newly emerged technology in the field of information security in recent years, which can be widely used in multimedia copyright protection and image authentication, etc. However, it is slow to use software to realize digital image watermarking system, so it can not meet the requirements of real-time processing. On the other hand, hardware realization is characterized by high speed; thus, the hardware realization of digital watermarking algorithm has important practical value and significance. Based on FPGA-hardware platform, this essay studies and designs the digital watermarking algorithm realization program, and eventually realizes key modules of the algorithm–DCT transform.This essay mainly deals with:(1) Improve a DCT domain adaptive digital image watermarking algorithm, which makes use of result of image sub-block character classification to adjust to watermark embedding intensity. Thus, it ensure that the watermark is not visible while effectively enhances the intensity of the watermark. The improved image watermarking algorithm makes comprehensive use of the multi-step scrambling transformation for watermark, and it further enhances the security of the watermark. Eventually, use MATLAB for stimulation of whole experiment, and the stimulation results proves the correctness of this algorithm.(2) Studies and designs the realization plan of digital watermarking algorithm based on FPGA, and uses FPGA to realize key modules of the algorithm–DCT transform. DCT transform is one of the key digital algorithms in this program, because the realization speed of DCT transform directly determines the realization speed of digital watermarking algorithm. Here, we first analyze DCT transform, and then research on some fast algorithm existed in DCT transform, and finally do an effective design and stimulation of hardware of DCT transform.
