PCI serial communication card, which communicates with each other by standard protocol, hasbeen widely used in industrial control. Especially in military engineering, confidentiality and securityare required in communication. It’s an effective method in improving communication security tocontrol the bandrate flexibly.This issue has accomplished a PCI serial communication card withcontinuously adjusted bandrate which is freedom to send and receive information.First, this paper introduces the background and the significance of the issue. After compare of thedifferent methods realizing PCI interface controller, the programmable logic device has been chosenas it’s flexibility, and the DDS(Direct Digital Synthesize) technology has been chosen to accomplisethe requirement that the communication bandrate can be adjusted continuously. According to thestructure from analysis to design, from entirety to portion, this paper first introduces the keytechnology involved in the system design, and then, analyses the system, divides the functionalmodules. After this, this paper describes the system’s realization in logic structure design, hardwaredesign, driver design, upper application design in detail. The logic structure design is accomplishedwith Verilog HDL based on FPGA(Field-Programmable Gate Array), including the PCI interfacecontroller and the local functional module, the hardware design is accomplished focused on FPGAand combined with the external communication circuit, the driver is accomplished with WDM(Win32Driver Model), and the upper application design is developed with C++. Last, this paper gives asummary of the whole system design and discusses problems in the system as well as it’s extensions.The PCI serial communication card with continuously adjusted bandrate finished by this issuecan be used in telemetry signal control system, to provide serial communication, and to meet theproject requirement of continuously adjusted bandrate.
