With the deepening of the modern revolution in military affairs, information has become the key of winning a modern war. Using MUAV to intake of image information in modern warfare, is an important means of reconnaissance it plays an irreplaceable role. Wireless image transmission system not only has an important applications in military, but also has a widely use in the field of civil such as in the security monitoring, medical supporting, disaster relief and others. Under this premise, the paper has designed a novel wireless image transmission system, which is not based on network and computer. And this system can be widely used in both military and civilian circles.In this paper, the existing wireless image transmission system and the actual situation of micro-UAV is analyzed, a detailed design plan of system has been presented. The plan is to build a image compression and transmission program without using the network and computer platform. The system is divided into two parts, which are the acquisition and compression of image part on the airborne and the reception and display of image in the ground station section. In-depth study of the H.246 compression algorithm of video and DM6446 DSP development platform are researched indepth. Program and memory footprint of the X264 algorithm which is practical and related applications of DSP are researched as well. Simulate and grasp the X264 algorithm by using VC platform.Then transplant it into the CCS plantform. Design the memory allocation of DSP by using actual hardware. Implement the DSP transplant of X264 encoding algorithm. Finally, video compression stream is obtained. Design and Implement the wireless transmission module on the condition that the quality and speed of image transmission is ensured, testing results show that it can reach the requirements of the desired design of the transmission distance.In this paper, the investigation of the project, overall designing and module designing of this system, which is the Image Transmission System in Micro-UAV, are completed. An image and video acquisition encoder is implemented, which is worked without network and computers. With the compression ratio of 2.6%, the amount of code stream of video is reduced by using this design. Compressed rate of code stream satifies the requirement of wireless transimission.
