Comparative research on textbooks tend to focus on specific content, such asknowledge of how much, the way of representation of the knowledge, but neglectingthe exercises in the textbooks. Exercise is an important part in the middle schoolmathematics textbook, the exercises provide good or bad, directly affect the quality ofteaching and learning. Therefore, the research on the exercises in the textbook is verymeaningful work.The study on the problems of "number and algebra" in the junior high schoolmathematics textbooks of the PEP and Xiangjiao version, comparative analysis fromsurface, difficulty, consistency and experiment. After comparing the exercises in"number and algebra" from the two sets of textbooks, we reached the followingconclusion:(1)From the total number of exercises, the two sets of textbooks are lacking, thePEP is more serious. In addition the number of review exercises in the Xiangjiaoversion at all levels of the configuration is more scientific, that is more in line with thenew standard of mathematics curriculum.(2)In the types of the exercises, the exercises in the two sets of textbooks in thesubjective play are more, is a good example of the requirements of the new standard ofmathematics curriculum; in addition the calculation exercises in the Xiangjiao versionare less.(3)In the materials of the exercises, exercises of "no background" in two sets oftextbooks are more, relatively speaking, the materials of the exercises in the PEP arericher.(4)From the comprehensive difficulty of the exercises in two sets of textbooks,the difficulty of the exercises in "number and algebra" is not very high, the averagedifficulty of the exercises in the PEP is more high than the Xiangjiao version, theaverage difficulty of the exercises in the PEP is more in line with the requirements of the new standard of mathematics curriculum.(5)In the consistency of the exercises, the exercises and examples is not keptconsistent completely in the two sets of textbooks, the average difficulty exercises areslightly higher than the examples, but it can realize reasonable transition fromexamples to exercises; the average difficulty of the exercises in two sets of thetextbook at all levels becomes more difficult,"practice","exercise" and "review" of thetwo sets of textbooks in difficulty maintain a certain gradient and increase in turn, sofrom easy to difficult, from the shallower to the deeper, step by step, which is inaccordance with the cognitive law of the students.(6)In the test of the exercises, through the comparison of the test of the exerciseswe can reached the following conclusion: the exercises in two sets of textbooks are notdifficult; the difficulty of the exercises in the PEP are higher than the Xiangjiao version,which is consistent of the conclusion in the fifth chapter; students are more like theexercises in the PEP and the exercises in the PEP are more difficult; think the exercisesin the Xiangjiao version are new than the PEP; most of the students want the materialsof the exercises in the textbook are rich and colorful; hope exercises in the textbook aremore difficult.(PEP stands for people’s education press; Xiangjiao version stands forhunan education press)...
