Secondary vocational education is an important part of education in our country. Itshoulders the responsibility of cultivating medium and technical personnel and it is the basisof China’s economic and social development. The position of vocational education is veryimportant in the whole education system. A qualified secondary vocational student should beone who loves the motherland, loves people, is physical and mental health, has a goodscientific literacy and vocational technical ability, can realize one’s value and serve the society.He should has the ability of self-studying, adapt to the development of future society, hasgood professional ethics, grateful, has strong ability of employment and entrepreneurship.Currently, we are short of qualified secondary technical talent and we can’t meet thedemand of society. Secondary vocational education has a new development opportunity.However, affected by a policy of shunt by junior high school and university enrollmentexpansion, many secondary vocational schools entrance threshold drop down again and againin recent years. The quality of secondary vocational students dropped substantially.Especiallythe students’ Thanksgiving consciousness affect the healthy development of the studentsseriously, and it also restricts the development of the school.This paper is a study of the secondary vocational school students’ Thanksgivingconsciousness by a case of Weihai Art School. From the following four aspects of schools,families, society and students, we use the status quo of secondary vocational school students’grateful awareness questionnaire survey conducted as the research target to analyzethoroughly, concluded that the cause of the secondary vocational students’ Thanksgivingconsciousness is a lack of school education, family education, correct theory instruction,social immoral phenomenon and the secondary vocational student’s outlook on life and valueshas not yet fully formed. According to the reason we carried on the exploration to thecultivation of the secondary vocational students’ Thanksgiving consciousness. Schools shouldattach importance to connotation development, enhance school-running idea, strengthenschool teachers team construction, creating good campus Thanksgiving culture so as tostrengthen the students’ Thanksgiving education from different aspects. Parents should set agood example for their children. They not only "raise" their children, but also "educate" theirchildren. They should educate children how to take family responsibilities. Make full use of radio, film and media resources to create a good social atmosphere of Thanksgiving,strengthen the punishment of moral phenomenon and optimize the environment of the Internet.Pay attention to guiding the secondary vocational students’ self-awareness, self-regulation andself assessment, grateful, practice gratitude and improve their moral quality.Gratitude is an important content of school moral education, students gradually form thehabit of gratitude consciousness through Thanksgiving education. It not only conducive totheir sound development and long-term development, but also can form a good habit of moralconsciousness. We hope this research can arouse emphasis on gratitude consciousness ofsociety, school, family and the secondary vocational student’s, improve the level of secondaryvocational students’ Thanksgiving consciousness. Lay the foundation for the growth ofqualified personnel, adapting and repaying to society better.
