Since new-curriculum reform has been implemented for a dozen years, the idea ofinquiry-based study advocated by reform is managed to achieve during middle school biologyteaching, of which, as a main path to carry out the reform, biology experiment is significantand concerned by educators gradually. For now, the teachers are having been updated theirscientific concept, which is turned into the new idea of inquiry-based study, and madeunremitting efforts in transform the students’ learning methods. This thesis aims to find outthe results of inquiry-based biology experiment implementing in middle schools in the areasof Yantai and Weihai, and the solution to deal with those difficulties in teaching process. Sothat the progress of new-curriculum reform implementation can be indicated by the results.Firstly, the analysis of inquiry-based biology experiment requested in several teachingmaterials by Shandong version presents that how the new-curriculum idea embodies inteaching texts. Some specific methods such as questionnaire and interview show theprecondition of inquiry-based biology experiment implementing, the teachers’ attitudetowards the inquiry-based biology experiment and its implementation, and the subjective andobjective factors which affect the new teaching method. Then, by tracking and recording inthe class, issues during the teaching process are discovered and its solutions are found.Besides, all the investigation and research processes factually describe the implementation ofthe inquiry-based biology experiment teaching in the areas of Yantai and Weihai, and theexploration on the difference between practical exposure and requests in new middle schooltexts provides the realistic basis for those research launched by local education institutes andbiology teachers.Combined with physical circumstances of middle schools in the area of Yantai andWeihai, the analysis’ result suggests that the teaching method of inquiry-based biologyexperiment should arouse our attention and reflection, teachers should enhance the teachingpractice and scientific training of the new concept, take cultivating the uniqueness of thestudents’ learning styles into account and encourage schools to set up inquiry-based activitiesatmosphere. Thereupon educators are proposed to innovate the assessment and scoring ofexams and put the objective of inquiry-based teaching into practice.
