With the development of our country’s basic education curriculumreform and the deepening reform of quality education, people graduallyrealize the importance of biological experiment teaching in the process ofconstructing the theory of biology, and biological experiment teachinghas aroused extensive attention. However, as the economic developmentof different regions is not balanced, the recognitions of experimentalteaching in different areas are vary. There are obvious differences inbiological experiment teaching of different senior middle schools. Inorder to solve all kinds of problems existed in experiment teaching, tonarrow the gap between the reality and new curriculum standards, toimprove the efficiency of biological experiment teaching, it is necessaryteachers to investigate biological experiment teaching in the local areas.Through random questionnaire survey of45high school biologyteachers and1050senior high school students from8middle schools inBayannaoer, observing the experimental demonstration, visitingexperienced biology teacher, and interviewing students, the presentsituation of biological experiment teaching in these senior middle schoolswas investigated and analyzed. The results showed that the currentsituation of biological experimental teaching in Bayannaoer city was notoptimistic. The biological experiment teaching basically was still in"teaching assistant position". Teachers focused on theory, but neglected tocultivate students’ innovation ability. In the experiment teaching of"molecular and cellular" module, there were less than60%of students’experiments had been done. From analysis of these survey data, it can beinferred that the main reasons existing in the current of biologicalexperiment teaching of Bayannaoer are as follows, teachers’ experimentteaching concepts were obsolete, their professional quality were relativelylow, they ignored students’ dominant position in the biologicalexperimental teaching. Therefore, we must pay much attention to theteacher troop construction, change teachers’ concept of experimentalteaching, explore the reform of experiment teaching mode actively,improve the exploratory experimental teaching gradually and constructthe scientific experimental teaching evaluation system.
