With the continuous development and progress of our society and technology, early childhood education has been booming in the last two decades under the strong support of the state and society. The quality of teachers, who are the main force in the early childhood education reform, will directly affect the quality of early childhood education. Education background as an important indicator to measure the quality of early childhood teachers, is being paid more attention. At present, the overall situation of preschool teachers’education background is not optimistic. Thus,to enhance the academic levels of the kindergarten teachers will improve the quality of early childhood teachers and have an important significance on the quality of early childhood education to some extent.This study consists of five parts:The first part is the introduction, which presents the main topics, research reasons, definitions, literature review, theoretical foundation, research ideas and methods. It is helpful to have a better understanding on the research with these.The second part is about the background of academic enhancement program of the New Jersey early childhood teachers, which includes the current situation of early childhood education and the decision made by New Jersey to ensure that every child can receive a high-quality early childhood education.The third part, measures on improving the qualifications of early childhood teachers in New Jersey. Many measures are taken by New Jersey state government, making the related laws, investing more capital, adjusting the structure of teacher education, allowing the credits to be transferred and other initiatives, so as to accelerate the process of academic enhancement.The fourth part, to enhance the effectiveness of the teacher qualifications in New Jersey. Three aspects of this study, the number of highly educated teachers, institutions of higher learning professional development of early childhood education, early childhood education quality, since the introduction of the changes since early childhood teacher qualifications to enhance.The fifth part, inspiration. Based on the actual situation in China, to reflect on the qualifications of preschool teachers in China to enhance the feasibility and necessity, summed raised on the beneficial experience.
