| English reading is an important means of getting knowledge andunderstanding the world. English reading plays an important role in Englishteaching in middle schools, but when students are in higher grades, more andmore students lose interest in English reading and teachers still use oldteaching methods to set the same teaching goals for all the students, and thismakes the situation worse and worse. Stratified teaching is to divide thestudents into several groups according to their existing knowledge andreading ability. Stratiifed teaching method can not only make all studentsachieve the teaching outline, but also make all the students improve from theaspects of knowledge, skills and reading ability. This research is to applystratified teaching method to English reading in Grade9to prove stratifiedteaching method can improve the ’students reading interest and readingability.Before the experiment, the researcher divides the students into ABC levelsaccording to the survey and pre—test. Duirng the experiment,the researcherdesigns different reading tasks for the class reading and homework reading.Atfer experiment, the researcher analyzes the effect of stratified teaching inEnglish reading, and the expeirment shows that using stratified teaching, the students interest and reading ability have been improved.This paper is divided into four chapters, the first chapter is introduction, itintroduces the background of stratified teaching in English reading and itspurpose and significance. The second chapter is literature review. First, itintroduces the stratified teaching method and related theory. Second,itintroduces the theory of English reading,the types of English reading test,English reading strategies. The third chapter is methodology, it introduces theprocess of experiment in detail. The fourth chapter is conclusion, itintroduces the revelation and limitation of stratified teaching andimprovement measures. |
