Student’s Learning Status Investigation Of Rural Primary School In Shanxi Province

As an important part of the school education, learning statusshows the whole learning situation of student. This study adoptsthe questionnaire from the project of layout and school attendanceof rural primary and secondary schools in Shanxi Province (number:2011227), and the interview outline from the project of student’sschool attendance of Shanxi rural boarding primary school (number:104051)In order to grasp the student’s learning status of rural primaryschool, we used qualitative research and quantitative researchmethod to conduct twice investigations about the student’slearning status of rural primary school in Shanxi Province andinterview the villagers, the students and their teachers, parents.The results showed that:1. Most of the student’s learning statuswas well, the student’s adaptability was the best in the learningsituation dimensions.2. Most of the students’ learning attitude wasupright, the mean value of3.34(3for intermediate values); Overalllearning habits was good, average of3.43(3for intermediatevalues); As a whole, the surveyed students better adapted to thesituation, the average of3.61(3for intermediate values).3. However, the habit such as asking the teacher questions existedsignificant difference, slightly more students sometimes don’t wantto ask the teacher, even they do not learn well.Further internal difference analysis showed:1. There wassignificant gender differences in all aspects of the situation, thegirls better than male students;2. Different regions, different gradestudents had significant differences in the learning attitude andstudy habits. Students in hilly area had better learning attitude thanthose in plain region. Students in hilly area had better study habitsthan those in mountainous areas. Higher grades students inlearning attitude and study habits are obviously better than lowergrade students;3. Different types of students had significantdifferences in learning habit, the boarding student’s learningattitude and habits were better than non-boarding student.The survey of left-behind children revealed that:1. Overall, thelearning condition of left-behind children was worse than nonleft-behind children;2. Teachers generally thought the learningstatus of boarding left-behind children was better than non boardingleft-behind children.The correlation and regression study showed that:1. Therewere significant positively correlation between academicperformance and students’ learning attitude, learning habits andlearning adaptability;2. The student’s learning attitude, learninghabits, learning adaptation were the main influence factor ofstudent achievement.In view of the above conclusions, this article make suggestionsfrom the education teaching, the teacher’s construction, policy support, education evaluation and other aspects:1. According totheir aptitude, strengthen the guidance on students learning;2.Family and school give more attention to student’s learning andsupervision;3. Optimize the structure of rural teachers, improve theteaching quality of education in rural areas;4. Enforce the supportto boarding schools in poor areas, improve the rural school’shardware construction;5. Adjust measures to local conditions,according to the reality of rural education, further perfecting theeducation evaluation system.
