In the early20th century, modern consumerism has become a major impact on thevalues of the United States. With Chinese reform, opening up and the development ofmarket economy, modern consumerism has gradually spread in China, impact on thecollege students’ values of consumption. Under the influence of ideological trend ofmodern consumerism, there have many inevitable consumption erroneous in collegestudents’ consumption, such as blind, too high, comparison and excessiveconsumption, irrational consumption structure. We must pay attention to the impact ofmodern consumerism on college students today, strengthen the education of collegestudents’ consumption concept to against the negative impact in front of them.Consumption is not only an economic behavior, but also a cultural phenomenon.Chinese economic and social development has entered a new historical stage, as thereserve army of economic and social development,"post nineties" consumptionbehavior and habits have a certain impact on the guide of the whole socialconsumption values, so help them establish correct reasonable consumption habitsand consumption behavior has great significance for promoting the healthyconsumption culture, consumer behaviour and the building of a harmonious society.According to the current situation, modern consumerism has formed which beganto penetrate into the campus spiritual and cultural construction. Therefore, under thenew situation, we must make" the Outlook of Scientific Development "as the core, inorder to guide college students to form scientific and sustainable consumption concept.The paper tightly around the thread of "modern consumerism’s influence on collegestudents’ consumption concept", expand the analysis and discussion from theestablishing the correct college students’ consumption concepts. The full text of themain parts include: First, the impact of modern consumerism on college studentconsumers’ behavior. Modern consumerism has made great negative effect on collegestudents’ concept of consumption, which asks us for guide college students actively toestablish a correct concept of consumption; at present, under the influence of modernconsumerism, consumption structure and characteristics of college students haschanged and need to explore a directional various countermeasures and measures.This part further expounds the significance of this paper. Finally, from education and living environment, thepaper shaping boycott the negative influence of modern consumerism, help them toestablish correct consumption and puts forward the countermeasures.
