Countries around the world have their own customs and traditions, which reflect the cultural characteristics of the nation. Kazakhstan and China have long been friendly neighbors and remotely exchange a lot of cultural terms such as Kazakh and Chinese Han tradition of marriage. Both sides have similarities in the wedding customs and inspections. Analysis reveals some differences and similarities.Similarity being the custom of arranges marriages and the bride price or dowry being a fundamental part of the wedding. Both cultures represent the purpose of marriage as the desire of childbirth.Differences being that the Kazakhs put together an arrange marriage in which parent’s will has a strong contribution. On the other hand in Han ethnic group besides parents, matchmaking has its role too. As for the bride price in Kazakh tradition, the bridegroom’s gift to the bride’s family has mainly been cattle and sheep while in Han tradition in old times the bride price was settled mainly by land, money, silver and gold.While comparing the number of spouse a person can have Kazakhs before separating from the Soviet Union had practiced polygamy(The practice of having one or more than one spouse especially wife), which is now not tolerated and is becoming a dislike among people. Han ethnic group had a tradition of monogamy system with concubines.The Kazakh race and the Chinese Han in the marital idea, the system, and the customs have similarities and differences. Both nations reflect their continuous search for the grassland and the agricultural background. Both nations have their cultural background which has already developed deep inside them. Their culture represents the soul of the tradition which is to be understood on the both sides in order to promote the bilateral exchange of friendly relationship.
