According to the theory of career development, high school students are in careerexploration and initial orientation phase, It is an important period of career development for aperson. However, the lack of career education of China’s high school led many high schoolstudents with a weak awareness of career planning, career choices and learning motivation.This study survey about the status and problem of China’s high school students throughliterature review and questionnaire in order to give some recommendations about high schoolcareer education implementation strategies.This study used the questionnaire1100high school students from grade one to gradethree,《High School Career Guidance Questionnaire》(student questionnaire) as a researchtool, to investigate high school career development characteristics.The main conclusions of this study are as follows:Firstly, high school student career development overall is in good condition, but allaspects of development level is unbalanced.The overall level of high school students career development is good, but self-cognitive,career cognitive, education cognitive, career orientation and career choice are inconsistent.High school students have a strong self-cognitive and education cognitive abilities, They havea clear awareness of their own interests, hobbies and ability, at the same time, be able torecognize the education they accept now is very important to their future. Students are notgood at career cognitive, career orientation and career choice. They have little knowledge ofthe social career type, and have difficulties to choose occupation.Secondly, the high school students’ career development is affected by a number offactors.High school students’ career development is affected by a number of factors, butdifferent factors affect different aspects.Self-cognitive ability is affected by family conditions and academic achievement; careerchoice ability is affected by family conditions, academic achievement and school type; careerorientation is affected by the family conditions; Education cognitive ability is affected bygrade level. What worth mentioning is that the parents’ educational level affects all the fiveaspects.
