Teachers are puzzled by the problem of “high consumption and low efficiency” inclassical Chinese teaching for a long time. Although teachers spend a lot of time andenergy on it, they can’t get the ideal teaching effect. Students are not interested in theabstract and obscure classical Chinese. The current situation of classical Chinese teachingis that teachers and students are under the weak state. However, it is known that, classicalChinese is the precious culture heritage of Chinese nation, carrying the excellent nationalspirits, and possessing permanent artistic glamour. Classical Chinese is the media forstudents to have the perception of national culture. Inheriting national culture is one of thegoals of classical Chinese teaching, which is the compelling obligation of Chinese teachers.However, it is difficult to meet the expecting of inheriting national culture considering thecurrent situation of classical Chinese teaching. In addition, the new curriculum reformattaches more attention to classical Chinese teaching. In the course book, it doesn’t onlyadd the amount of classical Chinese selections but also pay more attention to the trainingof students’ abilities and nurturing of students’ emotion. Therefore, the traditional“cramming” is not appropriate to the requirements of the new curriculum reform whichadvocates the concept of “all-around the development for students”. At the request of thisconcept teachers must change their teaching concepts, and explore effective teachingmethods to improve the validity of classical Chinese teaching and to change the “highconsumption and low efficiency” situation of classical Chinese teaching.Based on the effective teaching theory, this thesis interprets the curriculum objectivesof the classical Chinese in senior high schools under the new curriculum reform and putsforward some own views aiming at the validity of classical Chinese teaching. This thesisanalyzes the current situation of classical Chinese teaching in classes and concludes theexisting problems in the classes according to the author’s experience of educationalpractice. Finally, this thesis puts forward some strategies of improving the effectiveness ofclassical Chinese teaching in senior high schools and so as to guide the practice.
