Research On The Current Phenomenon Of College Students’ Political Apathy In China

College students are the future of the country and the hope of the nation. They are constructers and successor of socialism with Chinese characteristics. Now China is in the key period of reform and opening up and social transformation. There is an untimely phenomenon of college students’political apathy in some of80s’and90s’college students. We should pay more attention to this phenomenon; we also should explore and research it. Political apathy is a complex political phenomenon. There are some debates in the research of this phenomenon. This paper will use attitude-behavior theory of political apathy to analysis and research the phenomenon of college students’political apathy. By these ways, we hope to provide some valuable thinking and explore for the research of this problem.First, this paper analyses connotation and characteristics of political apathy and college students’political apathy, in order to provide theoretical basis for the following research. Second, after the establishment of connotation of college students’political apathy, this paper analyses the current situation of college students’political apathy and the forms of expression in the level of political attitude and political behavior. All of these are based on the data of questionnaire and conclusion of individual interview. Third, the political apathy really exists in some college students, and can’t be ignored. So this paper analyses the causes of college students’political apathy from views of social history, external social environment, college’s ideological and political education and college students’individual. Fourth, after clearing these causes, this paper explores two completely different attitudes of college students’political apathy, one is sure, the other is negative. In this paper, we insist on negative attitude of college students’ political apathy. From this attitude, we analyze the influences of this phenomenon in the society of our country, college’s ideological and political education and college students’ individual. At last, this paper thinks deeply and explores comprehensive the measures of the current college students’political apathy. This part mainly provides some specific and feasibility measures from national macro level, college’s ideological and political education and college students’individual. The key and innovation of these measures will focus on the enhancement in effectiveness of college’s ideological and political education. By all these ways, I hope this paper can provide some thinking about the countermeasures of current college students’political apathy.
