Open Educational Resources Movement carried out in2001, has had a far-reaching impact onthe global higher education through free sharing learning resources worldwide. Since China’s highereducation has entered the popular stage of development in2002, the traditional personnel trainingmodel is difficult to meet the social needs of personnel training. The construction of China QualityOpenCourseWare (CQOCW) initiated by the Ministry of Education was started in2003in order todeepen the reform of university teaching and promote the sharing of quality resources. The teachingcontent, teaching methods, teaching force, teaching materials, and teaching effect of colleges anduniversities have been greatly improved during the last10years. CQOCW has made manyachievements, and has great effect in elevating teaching quality of high education.In the process of CQOCW online learning,learners inevitably encounter many problems and itis easy for them to fall into the superficial level of learning. Learning support service system cansupport students’ online learning via various ways, and it can not only stimulate their enthusiasm forlearning, but also improve learning effect. Therefore the construction of learning support servicesystem for CQOCW is very important. But there are many problems in the construction of learningsupport service system, since CQOCW is mostly digital version of the traditional classroomteaching. So it is necessary for CQOCW to learn from successful foreign open courses.This paper first introduces the background and status of the project at home and abroad, andexplains the meaning of this research. Then this paper defines the research object and relatedconcepts, and discusses the main points of theories used. On the basis of it, this paper analyzes theconstruction and application of learning support service system of CQOCW through the survey of128CQOCW websites and the related student’s questionnaire. According to it, this papersummarizes the problems existing in the construction of learning support service system ofCQOCW, and puts forward some suggestions learning from some excellent open courses. At theend, this paper summarizes the results and the limitation of the research, and forecasts thefollowing-up study in future.
