The teaching of ancient poems and essays account for a great proportion in theMother-tongue teaching in high school so that higher and higher attentions are proposed onthe Mother-tongue teaching. In order to prove the necessity of oral reading and takingeffective strategies for oral reading, this paper made a detailed analysis on the utility, theauthority and the tendency of aimlessness.Through studying the origin of the oral reading, and considering the interpretation ofancient and modern educators for oral reading. This article argues that the process of oralreading participated by so many kinds of sensory, such as eyes, ears, mouth and brain.Judging from the whole process of oral reading, it closely related to students’ psychologicalactivities. Reading is a process of internalization and externalization, in other words, is theprocess of conversing between words and meanings.Out of consideration of the Self-ability of Students, oral reading and language skills arelinked closely. On the nurture of language competence, oral reading realized the combinationof listening and reading, perceiving a meaningful and effective piece of words; Oral reading isthe process of changing from the characters to the content; Finally, Oral reading achieveslanguage skills improved. It is a long-term accumulating process, when the materialaccumulated enough in their minds, it will be used for their expression.This paper, seeing from a macroscopic perspective, analyzes the necessity of oral reading.It is the influence of the Chinese culture in the process of oral reading, experiencing theunique charm of Chinese inheriting the national spirit. Taken by it, the ancient poems andessays are a kind of "significant form”, are the unity of content and form, which require morerecitation. It can not only hold the external form, but also understand the meaning of ancientpoems and essays, at last, internalized.Through collecting and analyzing the theory about traditional reading theory andpsychology, based on the current situation of teaching practice, working out some feasiblestrategies: providing essential knowledge-related for the support of reading and understanding;monitoring the practical situation of students’ intonation; guiding oral reading scientifically.In the process of implementing, efforts should be made to properly balance the tworelations: between explanation and oral reading; read broadly and oral reading. In teachingactivities, we need correctly handle the relationships, so that, the teaching activities developsmoothly.
