This thesis takes Number Five Primary School of Linzhang for example, applyingmethods of questionnaire, interview as well as classroom observation to the research onstrategies of implementing diverse teaching methods to chinese in senior grades of thisschool.The thesis is made up of six parts, which are arranged as follows:The first part is the introduction, which gives a brief description of the background andthe significance of the study, then followed by the literature review and research methods aswell as the relative definitions.Chapter one presents different types of diverse teaching methods under new concept.These methods mainly refer to cooperation learning, discovery learning, experience learningand traditional learning. As far as each method is concerned, its connotation, operationprocedures and noticed questions are researched.Chapter two shows the survey of present teaching methods of chinese in senior grades ofNumber Five Primary School of Linzhang, applying methods of questionnaire, interview aswell as classroom observation. Questionnaires are handed out to make a survey about presentchinese learning and teaching of this school. Meanwhile, some chinese teachers in seniorgrades are interviewed about the troubles that they meet with when they operate cooperationlearning, discovery learning, experience learning and traditional learning. Besides, classroomobservation called classroom teaching interaction records is used to find out some questionsexisting in the classrooms.Chapter three explores the operation of diverse teaching methods in senior grades ofNumber Five Primary School of Linzhang and some rational proposals are put forward fromthe school level, teacher level and student level. First, from the level of school, teachers’concepts of education should be enhanced from two sides. One side is to improve teachers’professional training and guarantee their learning. The other side is to sound school-basedtraining system and care about practical teaching need of teachers. Second, from the level ofteacher, their professional skills should be enhanced and teaching content should be presenteddiversely. Students’ learning environment (physical environment, psychological environment,human environment) should be created. Collaborative learning should be realized and flexiblechoice of evaluation methods should be used. The differences in teaching aspects should be concerned about. Third, as far as students’ level, they should be organized to take part insome activities, improving their motive to learn.Chapter four provides examples of implementing diverse teaching methods to chinese insenior grades of this school. Through these concrete examples, the requirements andprocedures to implement diverse teaching methods are analyzed. Two complete teachingcases in which literacy and writing, reading, comprehensive study, oral communication, andexercises are included are selected to analyze concrete application of diverse teaching further.The last part is the conclusion. In this part, the major findings, limitations as well as thesuggestions for further research of this study are involved. It concludes that practice ofdiverse teaching method in Number Five Primary School of Linzhang needs exploring andimproving.
