Teaching activities are inherently accomplished through the communication betweenteachers and students. This communication is an important link in the carrying out ofteaching. To accomplish various teaching tasks, communication between teachers andstudents must be reinforced. Nowadays, changes and characteristics of the basics ofjunior middle school students have occurred. Thus, the skills that are used tocommunicate with students are positioned before us increasingly prominently. Althoughthe modern academic world has conducted a wide range of research on junior middleschool teachers’ professional qualities and skills, and obtained many results, research onteachers’ ability to communicate with students has not been deeply furthered. This hascaused a shortage of concrete evidence to support teachers’ ability in theory. This study,by referring to relevant research, has used questionnaires to investigate and analyse thecurrent status of communication between junior middle school teachers and students, andto seek solutions to enrich the theory of teachers’ professional quality. Through theinvestigation, this study describes the current status of communication between teachersand students, reveals and analyses the barriers in communication, and suggests thesolutions. It has concluded the following.(1) There are communication barriers thatexist between teachers and students, and are present in certain formats.(2) The factorsthat cause communication barriers are very complicated. Besides the factors of teachersand students as communication subjects, school management, its rules and culture, otherfactors also affect communication between teachers and students.(3) The studysuggests that the solutions should be implemented by teachers, students and the schoolmanagement. To individual teachers, they should have correct teacher-student value andimprove relationship with students. They should actively learn communication theory andenhance communication skills. They should refresh themselves and improve professionalquality and ability. To students, they should establish a cooperative, understanding andharmonious relationship with tehers. They should learn the necessary communicationskills. To the management of schools and education, they should decrease the size ofclasses and improve class management. They should establish system of motivation andencouragement, and reinforce communication training for teachers by offering necessarycommunication courses.
