Under the circumstances that social system is changing, higher education reformis deepening, and legal construction is completing, university student work faces newproblems and challenges. Consequently, in the field of student apartment management,student community emerged. Apart from providing more comprehensive livingcares and services, student community mainly integrates students’ life into theeducation of the whole school. How to play the education role to foster students’subjectivity is one of the main points concerned by student community, which is alsothe major component of this study.Students’ subjectivity is the product of human subjectivity, which is not only amatter of education, but also an important practical issue of social development. Oureducation researchers have studied how to develop students’ subjectivity from manyaspects such as teaching and learning, but in the real practice, the trainingeffectiveness is still not satisfactory. Instead of restricted in class, the development ofstudents’ subjectivity should be all-around, multi-angle, and penetrated into variousaspects of daily life, which enables students to feel subjectivity education all the time.Student community is becoming a part of the college education, and it possessesunique advantage and position in fostering students’ subjectivity. This is not only aneffective method to solve the weakening of management strength of studentapartments resulting from the increasing number of students due to universityexpansion, but provides a rare place for developing students’ subjectivity andstrengthening students’ subjective consciousness through practice. However, studentcommunity is still a new thing. Under the influence of inherent thinking and mode,there is much room to improve, there are lots of shortcomings in cultivating students’subjectivity, and there is still a big gap to our ideal goal.This study is aimed at the insufficient cultivation of students’ subjectivity fromthe aspect of student community. This paper attempts to discuss the sufficiency andnecessity, characteristics and advantages of student community’s cultivating students’subjectivity from theoretical level, reflect present situation about students’ communityin fostering students’ subjectivity through empirical way, and find out problems andreasons to these problems, in order to explore more reasonable ways to cultivatestudents’ subjectivity in student community. How to cultivate students’ subjectivity more effectively in student community isthe key point of this paper. College students should be encouraged to take an activepart in the management of student community and various kinds of activities, thus toimprove their subjective consciousness and self-development continuously. Studentcommunity has a vital significance and plays an irreplaceable role for the cultivationof students’ subjectivity.
