In the beginning of the new century, our country has been starting the eighthreform in the basic education curriculum. This reform is going to change theeducational model in the middle and primary schools from subject-oriented,knowledge-oriented to people-oriented, paying attention to the development of eachstudent. The appreciation education established by Zhou Hong reflectsthree-dimensional aims and requirements of the new curriculum.Implementing the appreciation education in junior middle school is in line withthe psychological characteristics of students in the middle school, and help to achievequality education, which will help build a harmonious campus. However, someteachers disagree. They believe that punishment and complaining education canmaintain better order. In this regard, I have done a survey among students andteachers in the rural middle schools of JieXi County, Guangdong Province. The resultsshowed that82%of the students desire to be appreciated and encouraged,61%of thestudents prefer the teachers who respect, care for and appreciate them,and51%of thestudents believe that their learning interest and scores are closely related with theirteachers’ attitude. This means that the students are eager to be respected andencouraged. They have a strong emotional life and emotional experience. However, the survey among teachers showed18.4%of the teachers have never heard ofappreciation education;58.1%of teachers heard about the appreciation education, butthey do not understand it well.20%of teachers who understand appreciationeducation do not agree with the appreciation education, i.e., they doubt the effect ofthe appreciation education. The most core concept of the new curriculum ispeople-oriented, that is,"everything is for the development of every student." CanAppreciation Education really achieve the goal of the new curriculum in rural areas? In this paper, the educational experimental method is used. According to avariety of theories about education and psychology, the application of appreciationeducation in biology teaching is explored in rural junior middle school, the effect ofappreciated education on student scores, learning interest, motivation, self-confidenceand other aspects are analyzed with the experimental oachapproach of peer groups.First, select two classes of the same level as the experimental objects, pre-test todetermine if there are some differences between the two classes. Then, make one asexperimental class, another as comparative class. Penetrating appreciated concept inthe experimental class, and conducting the evaluation feedback timely and properly.Accordance with conventional teaching in the comparative class, there are no scenarios of specific creation. The two classes have no differences in teachers, teaching contents, progress, operation and testing. The experiment has lasted for onesemester. Post-test results and students’ self-evaluation indicate the appreciationeducation plays an immediate effect on improving teacher-student and student-studentrelationships. The biological teaching combined with the appreciation educationalphilosophy can effectively promote students’ learning interest and motivation, improve their biological scores, and enhance their confidence, improve theirsubjective consciousness. In this experiment, we pay more attentions to the less advanced students. Thepractice has proved that the appreciation education in biological teaching has thepositive and effective effects in the transformation of less advanced students intoadvanced students.
