The cooperation and inquiry teaching method is one important type of inquiry teaching methods. In1960s, the inquiry teaching was introduced to emphasize the students’subjectivity in the education. Under the guidance of teachers, the inquiry teaching method views the students as individual researchers who can find, analyze and solve the problems in the learning process. And the method educates the students’ abilities of the practice and innovation, rather than mechanically deliver the knowledge from teachers to students in traditional education methods which severely ignore and suppress the students’subjectivity. With the development of society and economy, as the advantages in education, the inquiry teaching method is widely being applied by every country in the world.In1990s, the quality education was introduced in reform of education. Since2000, the new curriculum reform, a deeper education reform, introduces various advanced ideas and theories on education. The inquiry teaching method is famous for its special education ideas and teaching types, resulting in many researchers’attentions and fast developments. The cooperation and inquiry teaching method is its one important form in the practical education as its complexity, difficulty and lack of research in operations. Therefore, based on myself experience on education and related works, I concentrate on the studies of the cooperation and inquiry teaching method and give the practical applications in middle school’s mathematics education.The remainder of this paper is organized into five major parts as follows. Section1introduces the background and significance. Section2gives the definition and characteristics of the cooperation and inquiry teaching method. Section3shows the theories of practical applications in middle school’s mathematics education. Section4lists the application techniques of the cooperation and inquiry teaching method in middle school’s mathematics education. Section5analyzes the practical experiments and applications.
